Getting new cams+gears, do I need new vavletrain too?
Hey, first off, my car is a 99 SI, with only I/H/E, and new clutch and flywheel. I'm ordering Buddy Club 3 cams, and Buddy Club cam gears, and just wanted to know if these require upgraded valve train. I think my compression is like 10.1:1, completely stock block, and no head-work.
Your going to want to get new springs and retainers for sure, if i was you i'd get a 3 angle valve job and one of those nifty metal head gaskets while your at it. Also, I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure its gonna run like poo till you get it tuned, and you probably need to raise the rev limiter to take full advantage of the cams.
