Should i put a kicken stero sytem in my 91 crx?
my brother says hell no but i want to lol i am goin to strip the hole back of the car and i wanted to rase the center consol and make a huge stero box and have the floor made with plecy glass so you could see it is it a good idea or would it be called ricin it out b/c i dont want to rice her i want to keep it clean? any ideas will help thanks
Yeah...I'm not going to tell you what you should/shouldn't do to your own ride but I will point a few things out:
1. The CRX is a huge theft magnet. Chances are, if you put a really nice system in and start turning heads, it will eventually get broken into or stolen outright. And a lot of insurance companies have a ceiling on stereo claims.
2. That's money that could have been put toward a swap, paint job, wheels/tires etc.
3. Just about every automotive audiophile I have ever known has eventually outgrown their fascination/hobby. A number of them have expressed regret at spending foolish amounts of money on their projects.
My suggestion...buy a modest system with an emphasis on bang for the buck. Sub $500 price range. That'll get you a decent head unit and a component speaker set. Or a head unit, small amp and subwoofer.

The above says it greatly.
Your saying you want it clean, yet your talking about modifying the entire interior. People would call anything but stock/mugen parts would be considered rice. Do what you think is cool and don't care what anyone thinks. Hell I have ppl who have said they hate things on my car and its just a 90 dx jdm front and C5 motor. There is always gunna be haters no matter what you do, just do what you like.

I'm not into stereo systems really, but theirs nothing wrong with a 8-10" sub with a built in amp. Infinity has a subwoofer with a built in amp that looks damn nice and it can be taken out easily with. Its just straped in the car instead of bolted down. It would be great for removing weight when going to racing and etc......
Like someone mentioned earlier putting huge subs in crx is like a theft magnet because everyone will be able to see inside your hatch. They don't have much room to begin with thats why I wouldn't really put a huge system in one and I'm more into going fast then looking good.

I am all of the above. DO NOT DO IT. IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY AND HEART ACHE. And this is coming from someone who was a Car Audio Salesman for 5 years. I lost 1000's of dollars! Thieves will F**KING kill you if you can not have it garaged 75% of the time. I have been broke into 5 times at work alone, not counting the others while out and about. Never once got hit at my house thank GOD. A sound system is like a body kit in my opinion. For a select 5% it is great but the other 95% of the people grow out of it and hate it. I have done them both and learned from my mistakes and lessened bank account. EVERYONE LOVES SPEED AND A CLEAN LOOKING CAR, you can never go wrong with a swap, wheels, paint, and IMO the TURBO
Good luck with what ever you choose though.
and alarms are honestly about as good as ********, they only thing they are good for keyless entry and remote start. if you do get this stereo and alarm then make sure to get a back up battery and small extremely loud sirens called pee-zo's. they are tiny and can be installed in air vents and small places. they are ear piercing little bastards. THEY ARE A MUST

do what YOU want. I know theives is a bitch, but heres a tip. dont bang it when parking for long times, bang it when your leaving. Dont Bang it in your neighboorhood. bang it when your cruising. I had a bangin system in almost all my cars, and they never had alarms. just doing what I said above keepet my car safe.
