Default i searched but this is a little differnt then what it came up with

ok this is the situation i met a guy with a gsr motor b18c1 with some mods. he says it came out of a 95 inetgra he currently has it installed in his car i test drove it and it runs great, but getting to the point the motor and tranny have no vin #'s the motor vin # is grinded off and the tranny one is off as well it still has the b18c1 stamp on it he sayed that it came out of his friends car and sold the shell, he said that if i buy the motor he will sign the papers and if i want his friend will to. he wants $2250 for the complete swap axles motor ecu tranny etc... the reason he is selling it is because he bought an itr motor and wants to drop that in it sounds kindof fishy to me not having the #'s.

my question is should i buy this motor and if i do is there any way i will get in trouble the #'s being off or should i just wait and get a different motor somewere else thanks in advance

I see you live in cali.......Don't buy this engine. If a cop pulls you over and starts looking for VIN #s and can't find any. You WILL get in some nasty trouble. You can't trust anyone these days really.

if ur gonna get it BAR at state ref, it will not pass due to no vin number even if u have paper work and plus u might get send to CHP and they will take that shiet.

i know for sure if the CHP sees the motor without a vin # on the block or tranny, say good bye to ur b18c.

Look for something else. A defaced vin tag usually means trouble to the authoritys .

I wouldnt.. 2500 is on the lower end of what gsr swaps go for.. Since I buy and rebuild cars I pretty much go by this saying - If its too good to be true then it probably is... 2250 is pretty cheap.. If the block number is gone and the only thing there is the b18c1.. I WOULDNT buy it for sure.. THe 95 didnt come with vins on the tranny.. Does it have holes for the rivets? if it does chances are he's trying to pass it off as a 95 becuase he knows they didnt come with vins.. Good luck though.. Just save a little more money and buying something you think is a good investment, not something your scared to get into from the begininning
