I have an LS/Vtec w/ 1.6l si head what would be the best set of cams (brand, stage, etc) to run & what else needs to be done to head (valvetrain) without spending a rediculus amount of money?

 

Well... you should really try searching for ****. But, it depends on what your looking for. You can get ITR/CTR cams pretty cheap and get descent gains. Or you can go with ones like Buddy Club, JUN, Toda, Spoon, Mugen, Crower, Skunk2... the list goes on... whichever ones you go with, plan on changing your head internals as well. New springs and retainers at the LEAST. But I would replace everything from the lost motion assemblys, to the valves and valve guides. Figure out exactly what you want to do with the motor and go from there. The LS bottom end probably doesnt like revving as high as the head will be able to so you have to consider that as well. thanks so I should get new pistons, connecting rods, ect. I there much deference from the itr to ctr & from those to the Buddy Club, JUN, Toda, Spoon, Mugen, Crower, Skunk2.

 

If I were you I would go with Crane cams they have proven a 30whp gain in a LS/Vtec with cam gears , itr manifold throttle body and so on they are the baddest cams I have ever seen
