Default jdm 98 spec transmission

I am considering buying a 98-Spec transmission (4.7xx final drive and lsd) to shorten the gearing a bit on my '95 GS-R. I want the whole thing, not just a final drive kit . . . that way i get the LSD also.

My question is, will this bolt right up to my setup? or will I need extra parts?

how much should i plan to spend on one?

Obviously, this would be best with a nice clutch and super-light flywheel. So as soon as my stock clutch dies (only 56K miles on it so far) I am going to change over the tranny-clutch-and flywheel.

thanks for the help!

this will bolt right up. Expect to spend a bit over $2000 for the tranny(new) and anywhere from $75-100 for shipping depending on your location and shipping method. Thanks!

Thanks for the info . . . I don't care if it is used or new, although I have a feeling a used one will be hard to find! Used would be much better for the $$$ . . . 2K is a lot.

Gotta go drive now. Must - burn - out - stock - clutch. must - get - new - clutch - tranny

you guys might laugh but i have seen JDM ITR trannys on the parts trader from 1500-2000 lsd and final drive equiped. all i can say is pay a lot now or a little later. if you look around long enough you can always find crackhead prices.
