Exhaust....sound...power
Alright guys. With my next few checks and stuff I am gonna buy exhaust for my dc5. Well... I am kinda stuck between a few.
I was wondering about sound level (how loud is it really) and power.
Here is what I'm considering:
1. Buddy Club Spec III
2. Buddy Club Pro Spec III
3. 5zigen pro racer A spec

4. Tanabe Super Medalion

5. Greddy Evo2 or EvoTT
Give me input on what you guys have and what you have heard about any of these or any others I havent listed. I know the Spec III will be loud... but how loud... I dont wanna be a cop magnet. And is the pro spec that much more quiet?
Thanks.
Miles

Def get the SpecIII. You'll save some weight(14lbs v. HKS's 38lbs). If you have a cat it won't be that loud. I have the DCRH as well as the SpecIII and it's just right IMHO

You gotta hear them in person. Dallas has a pretty active DC5 group so you should be able to check out some actual installations in person (they post a lot on the "other" RSX site). All of the systems you listed are loud for daily driving with the BCIII, the loudest.
Gains will pretty much be close but exhaust sounds are so personal it's essential you hear it live.
I wish I could get the OEM sound of a 350Z/G35 out of my DC5, that's my personal fave right now.

Thanks...I looked into getting the HKS hi power, but I dont really like the sound. I'm leaning toward the spec III or the pro spec.. Is the pro spec that much different? Also anyone have clips of the 5zigen pro racer? I have vids of the others (never heard any in person)... and right now im grounded for a while so I dont think ill b able to go to any meets anytime soon.
My main question now:
The differences between the Spec III and Pro Spec.

If you want something LOUD, you really don't want TANABE SMR because it's silent as hell. My friend has it on his DC5 -S so belive me. I have it on my EP and I cant hear **** so I'm a little bit disappointed. But performance wise, big THUMBS up. If you're planning to turbo charge your DC5, I say go with Greddy EVO TT.

The SRM is loud. The Hyper version isn't. You either mixed them up or bought the wrong exhaust.</TD></TR></TABLE>
First of all, its not SRM is SMR(Super Medallion Racing) and second of all, I'd be really screwed up person to mix them up and last it all depends on your definition of LOUD and mine.

Sorry guy, but there is no pro spec 3, it is eiterh a buddy club spec 3 or pro spec the difference is the spec 3 is a track exhaust system and doesnt have a resonater but has a gas type chanber instead of resignator while the pro spec has the reonater looks the same but on inside of piping is slightly different, as for loudness my buddy has a jrrh with testpipe and a spec 3 that hits 160dbs a foot away from the tip..

The RM-01A is a great mid range cat back system. Not having it too loud is the key there too. They also have the Legalis-R which is a little louder.

Ive seen the HKS vid... i dont really like that sound. So i wouldn't lose any power if i got the pro spec?

they are wrong
Buddy Club Pro Spec is a super light that right from the descriptions if it was a pro spec III it would say it in the description as well.. there is no pro spec 3. the pro spec is the usdm version of the spec 111

To answer all the questions... the Greddy TT is a turbo tuned exhaust... so unless your getting turbo thats a waste.. The HKS Hi Power is a good sounding exhaust, i enjoyed mine and it gave noticable gains. The Buddy Club SpecIII is an obnoxiously loud exhaust, especially with a race header so if you dont want to get pulled over all the time I dont suggest getting it. The Pro Spec would be a much better choice since if you want Buddy Club, it comes with a resonator and is much quieter (not a quiet exhaust by any means though). The powergetter is a good exhaust system, however some have said it is somewhat restrictive. I disagree but its your opinion
