i recently bought my 92 civic hatch. it drives well but the only thing i worried about is the clutch.

after reading up on it i was sure that it was the clutch. certain problems like stalling if i slightly let go of the clutch and put no or very little gas. unlike other cars it would move forward a lil. when going from neutral to first maintaining low rpms i would hear a kinda loud grinding sound.

now i got a new exedy clutch officially 4 miles. all previous problems remain but when i maintain very low rpm and slightly let go of the clutch the car shakes bad. also it feels very loose (previously refferred to as a ***** clutch) and not at all stiff which i would like it to be.

please tell me if the is regular w/ civics and help me diagnose. can it be due to the fact that its an old motor or bad transmission?

fyi: the fywheel was resurfaced and the mechanic said that the unstiffness was due to the new clutch nothing to do.

 

Did you bleed the clutch line when you installed it?

 

Did you replace/resurface flywheel when new clutch was installed?

what stage clutch did you get. some grab harder than others. just have to get use to it

 

i asked the mechanic he said it wouldnt help.
