Default rpm tac in 92dx

just wanted to know if anybody has any recommendations as to what kind of gauge i can use for rpm's on my 92 civic dx. what would be the price difference as far as parts and installation between replacing my in dash custer rather than just adding a single gauge? if so where should i put the gauge? which is easier?
