not necesarrily. you can burn out the clutch disc during a burnout. but you can get away with it for awhile as long as you arent making tons of power.
we have guys on stock axles making 600hp and holding up the whole season. Its not guaranteed that you wont break, but its all about how much force and stress that is put on the axles that will cause them to break. If your car HOOKs like crazy off the line with no spin at all, combined with either bad alignment and/or massive wheel hop, you can break axles whether you are making 120hp or just 200hp.
