keep my turbo or go bigger?
t3 super 60 .48 a/r
just gonna be running a stock d16z6 with neptune. im looking for about 220-230 whp. Im debating on just selling it and going with a t3/t4 with a .48 a/r then i would have more room to mess around with later.
about how much boost would it take to make 220 whp on the d16?

i thought z6 was 7500, but close enough
i wonder if this turbo is capable of 300 whp?
oh and not as fun as 800 whp, i want a ride

The super 60 will make 300 WHP without much trouble, and it will cost him the same to upgrade now, or upgrade 6 months from now, so why not run the super 60 trim and have a more fun car to drive for the time being?
A t3/t4 will have a much easier time with 300whp than a super 60. On my friend's car, B18C, using the t3/t4 that comes with the Turbonetics kit(i think 50 trim, not sure) and a built motor we maxed it out at 14psi at 328whp. Turned the boost up to 17psi, turbo came up faster, but made no more peak hp, so it was pretty much maxxed.

the t3 super 60 will make boost so much fatser than a standard t3t4(non ball bearing). i have seen these turbo make awesome boost before 3k rpms, and pull all the way to redline on a sohc, and thats really what you want.
no need for a turbo that makes power at 8500 rpms when you wont be there.

You sure you have a super 60? Just because the trim is 48/60 doesn't make it a super 60, this is a common misconception. For example, my 48/60 is not a super 60. Super 60's are very rare. If you're boosting the stock bottom end, which you are this turbo is fine. It will outlast your stock bottom end for sure.
ive been reading in turbod16 before their site went down and a lot of members had the 60 trim .48 a/r and they were well around 210hp tuned.. if the super 60 has the ball bearing unlike the regular 60 trim then wouldn;t it spool fast? besides you want something that spools at the range you want it to be, not so soon (esp on city driving) nor late since you wouldnt even be able to see those power up where your engine couldnt rev up to
wilcox got the regular 60 trim and on his z6 he said it starts spooling at 3500 rpm and thats good enough for me
