installing omni coilover in R
any1 here have omni coilover on their R or DC chasis? where did u keep the brake line to? i used zip-tie together around the coilover, but i'm afraid brake line might rub against the wheel or a rotor.
any1 w/ bad experience?

zip ties are your best friend everyone who has installed omni's have done this including projectdc2 aka mr spoolin and i both used zip ties to keep the brake line attached somewhat like stock mountin...just give it enough slack and you wil be set
You guys need to wrap the brake lines in something to prevent abrasion *and* use 2 zip ties (one around the shock body, then another around that to secure the line) so that the line does not rub anywhere.
I cannot believe these precautions are not given in the install instructions

Here's what I did. Zip tie to the A-fork. Also used som tape and hoseclamps (attached gently to allow the brakeline to expand when hot) to further prevent rubbing:

I think .RJ is right on the money with this one. I probably would have never thought about that. Now that I think about it the mechanic who put on my Bilsteins told me there was nowhere to put the brake line on those.

Ohh really? Got any supporting evidence for that bold statement?
My HKS Hypers don't even have mounting brackets for the brake lines and are slightly more expensive than the Omni product. Just look at it this way, zip ties are lighter than steel/aluminum mounting brackets.

Search, lots of failures in most of their product line, and not one or two, but lots.

Thats nice bud, thats not what the thread is really about and I dont care to argue about something most are already aware of (plus I said just search, as I dont need to take credit for the great stockpiles of actual data on this). And IMO, poor engineering/design=cheaply made, maybe even worse
. That dudes above looks like it was getting ready to fail at the same place all the other ones did, just had to wait for someone else's to fail and hope Omni did something about it.

It's people like you that have no clue what they're talking about which make these arguements futile. I don't need to do a search BUD, I know the facts which you obviously don't. IF you take your own advice and do a search, you'll learn that the problem wasn't in the product was being cheaply made/designed, it simple quality control issues whenever the product was being produced.
Theres a difference between a cheaply made product and one that's malfunctioned.

I think it was more of a R&D flaw...other than that problem i love mine

Hope omni did something about it? My omni coilovers came with a lifetime warranty against defect... if mine failed, which they haven't, I would just send them back and get an updated set. So far so good and the quality is excellent...
As far as securing the brake lines: use ZIP TIES and get on with your life.
