People with Fujitsubo RM-01A & Super-EX Please Help.
Hey Guys,
I've been thinking about picking up both the Super-EX and RM-01a at the same time, but had a few questions.
1. I've been checking out the BoomPlusToys website and it seems like for the ITR, there is only the non b.v (basic version) available. Does anyone know if they make a basic version for the ITR, similar to the one they would make for the EK?
BPT and PPP (Pole Position Products) seem to have vastly varying prices for the same header.
http://www.polepositionproduct...x.htm ($580 USD)
http://boomplustoys.net/Fujitsubo/superex.htm ($971 USD)
2. I've read that some people have been complaining that their header is starting to rust. Any more experiences with this? I live in SoCal so salt and rain isnt really an issue.
3. Looking at this picture, it seems like this header has brackets (similar to the one on the Toda header). Does anyone have experience with it breaking/snapping off?
http://boomplustoys.net/Fujits...1.jpg
4. I originally wanted to get the Toda header but have heard complaints about the bracket as well as the attached springs (which seem to be only for a race look) causing a tremedous amount of rattling at varying RPM's. Any rattling issues with this piece?
5. Havnet seen anyone complain about ground clearance issues, didnt know if there were any.
6. Should I get the SMSP cat or the JDM ITR Cat? Is it possible to run the JDM one, without welding on a secondary o2 sensor, and not have the CEL go crazy?
Thanks for all your help guys. I will def. have install pictures and dyno plots once I get it all squared away.

one of the favorite bling combo in ITR forum:
Toda Header/Carsound cat or T1R testpipe/Fujitsubo RM-01a

Misfit had the header on before he went turbo. If I remember correctly, he didn't like it. As for the RM-01A...

RM01A =
Great ground clearance, great fitment, great sound, great power.
Toda header =
Same for everything, except those springs are mildly annoying, as they do buzz a little. It's not that bad though, and in vTaK mode you won't hear it

No rattling issues with mine, in fact it's holding up quite well despite all the hell I put it through.

The non basic (or EX version) is available for the ITR as i got prices from a dealer in the Uk for both only 2 weeks ago. The basic version was $746 and the EX was $1075 (that price included shipping from japan and all our local taxes and VAT) I plumped for the 5zigen header in the end as it worked out at approx $550 shipped.

I would suggest you email boomplustoys for a better quote, I always have good luck getting a better price than their website price when I email them for a good price quote.

There was a dyno comparison awhile back, with the T1R coming out on top by a few hp here and there. I certainly wouldn't consider it a bottleneck, as the combination (Fuji + Toda) feels great, and doesn't feel restricted at all. However, the other differences (sound, fitment, build quality) had the Fuji winning. I've heard of many problems with the T1R rubbing on various underbody parts, or being difficult to fit up during installation, etc. With the Fujitsubo, NO problems in that area.

i see,,2.5 and 2.39 about almost samn..but iam sure 2.38 is enough flow for stock motor though..right?
and about RM-01A..at the axle back. are pipe is getting smaller inside for quite sound? new T1R SPL does get smaller at the end (inside muffler) to get quite sound

2.38" is fine for stock motor. The piping does not get smaller to my knowledge, unless for some weird reason it's smaller inside the muffler.
