My friend just got himself a 2000 GSR. We just put a AEM CAI and a APEXi N1 catback on it. Hes had it for about a week. I noticed the other day when he hit vtec in first gear everything was great but after the secondaries kicked in the car acted very weird. It didnt do it when he first got it. So today I went and drove it in 2nd and the whole car like jerks between 6-8k rpms. The intake gets really loud, then it gets quiet and the car just starts pulling like it should, then it gets all loud again and stops pulling, then gets quiet and takes off. To me it almost sounds like the secondaries are opening and closing or something. Anyone have any ideas. The check engine is on and we dont know for what yet so. Thanks alot. Jay

 

could it be a vacum problem? Somewhere on this board, there is a drawing of the manifold. Check all the vacum lines, or just get a skunk2 manifold, and get rid of those silly runners LOL!

Is it just on OBD1 Hondas you can just the codes? Or can you do it on the OBD2s also?

 

We reset the ECU and drove it around. No check engine light any more. I checked and made sure the IAB's are opening and staying opening. Anyone got some ideas?

 

Well, hopefully the check engine light will stay off. If you're not so lucky, it will come back on in a couple of hours, sometimes even days. Again, i would check all the vacuum lines, and check for leaks anywhere. GL!
