Default Tuning and Turboing an Integra GSR

My buddy knows a kid that wants to have his Integra GSR turbo-charged. Alas, the kid knows nothing about doing it, and approached my friend. We're hoping to get into opening our own little speed shop eventually, but we're starting out small and doing simple things.
My buddy already Turbocharged his 3000GT (was an SL) and we've rebuilt many an engine. So we've got experience in the field.

However, if I am going to do this, I am going to do it right. So I want to know just how hard it will be to tune the car after we've intalled the turbo. If I'm able to tune it, all the better (I can charge more $$!) However, if not, I'd rather send the car out to a respectable shop to get it tuned.

How difficult is it to tune one of these and what does it entail? I'd appreciate any advice I could get.

On a side note, I'm also rebuilding a '66 Mercedes I6 engine just need a car to drop it in if I dont sell it

just needs a management system (uberdata, hondata, vafc, aem ems, etc...) throw it on a dyno and tune it man, same as other cars. if not street tuning is another option. basically the same as dyno tuning except your not on a treadmill. watch for the po-nine... since ur familiar with this im sure you already know that...

shouldnt be hard to tune at all. shouldnt take long either.

if you want the cheapest way to go, street tune, using uberdata, you need a laptop, a wideband o2 sensor/controller setup with datalogging capabilities, an EGT probe & gauge(if you want to adjust the timing... which you should), ECU chipping supplies, and soldering skills(or send it to get chipped or get him to buy a chipped ECU), oh yeah and an EPROM programmer. This is the route I took in tuning my own turbo setup. You simply install the turbo kit, hook up the o2 sensor controller and EGT to your laptop, start off with burning a basemap that runs rich and slowly lean out the RPM range and add timing where needed, here is a site with some of the best articles you can use for tuning:

bookmark it, save it, whatever, awesome information for beginners in tuning with uberdata.

btw I went for the Zeitronix ZT-2 setup w/ EGT probe, ended up costing less then $450, another $120 for the EPROM programmer, and $25 in chipping supplies. This price is comparable to just buying a Hondata setup but with these you can tune more then just 1 car you just have to spend $25 for chipping supplies on each car.

UBERDATA is ur friend. im using n it on my car and also hooked up a few other people with it. i street tune the cars with my PLX wideband ($305) and use the datalogging features of UBERDATA. i then take the cars to the dyno to fine tune it to make MAX HP. tuning the car should be hard. just research on it first before attempting to do it

Thanks a ton guys

I think this is something we can do and get our name out there.

I just dont want to dive in headfirst and **** up someone elses car because I dont know what I'm doing. I'm a V8/carburator guy, and my buddy knows all about turbo/EFI.
