What a deal, got a DA for ~$600
<UPDATE>
On the lift.

Crossmember removed(sorry no before picture).

Old crossmember(can you see the damage? ha)

New crossmember($80 + $10 of gas to drive to pick it up).

And some welding pictures

The proud new owner.

heh somehow Gustavo lost his head in this picture.. He was our fireman for the project because the sound deadening material kept catching on fire from the welding.

</UPDATE>
Notice the angle of the wheel, the rear crossmember(that bolts to the LCA's) is umm... well fucked, its bent and the spot welds broke loose from the rest of the frame, drove a 4 hour(you know you're from texas when you calculate distance with a unit of time) round trip this morning to pickup one from a salvage yard in Abilene for $80 + $10 for gas, the old crossmember is half way removed, in a few hours me and my buddy will be getting under the lift to remove and weld in the new one and begin reassembling the rear end(while it's off we are replacing every bushing you can think of from the rear end).
The gas tank and fuel pump are in great condition to our surprise(2 years of sitting with bad gas). The previous owner had e-braked a corner, lost the rear end and smacked a curb, parked it in the back yard and it's been there for 2 years. It is my friends car, he wanted $1500 for the car but thought just the LCA was bent, once we got it on a lift and showed him it was the frame he said he'd take whatever, so $500 it is. Pretty sweet, we got the interior nice and clean, got rid of all the rattles, need to clean the gay spray paint off the interior trim which won't be difficult. Body has a couple dents, one big one that can easily be popped out, the rest will just have to stay for a while(small little nothings). The motor passed a leakdown test with flying colors, cam plug needs replacing(of course..), just needs a general tune up after we get it back together should be good to go, next step will be a auto to manual swap which really want be that difficult because we will be using a cable tranny. Anyway, enough talk, I will get some updated pictures of the car durring the crossmember swap and after it's back together, look for updates early next week.

yea, me and the owner(my best friend) we had to remove the messed up one from the car and the new one they just kinda used a sawzall and chopped off the floorpan all around the crossmember so we had to remove those stupid spotwelds on that too. You can tell we get a little impatient if you look at some of those pictures, my friend was hangin from the crossmember on the lift trying to pull it down when we had welds only half way removed and small parts of the floor pan of the car ripped off with the old one, so there are a few large holes, lol.. wish I had gotten a picture of him hanging from the thing upside down pushin on the bottom of the car with his feet while it was lifted tryin to rip it off.
Nah I got it from a place in Abilene, TX called Dave's Auto Salvage.
