OBD 2 ECU swap now wont start

Default OBD 2 ECU swap now wont start

i have a 97 lude base 5spd and the ECU got wet, it still runs the car but misses sometimes so i bought a new ECU and i hooked it up and my car wont start. it was from a 97 base 5spd any help?

5th gen ECUs have an immobilizer...if you're using your old key, it's not going to start the new ECU.

1) put your old ECU back in.
2) go to the honda dealer with your master (red) key and new ecu.
3) ask them to reprogram immobilizer for new ECU. should cost 75 bucks or so.
4) suggest that you swap ECU's in their parking lot to save yourself the money because they need the new ECU connected to the car to reprogram the immob.
