need help/advice
Hey guys,
After hitting a deer, I had to have my hood replaced. It was suposed to be replaced with an OEM hood, but the new hood fits terribly. How can you tell if it's a replacement OEM hood? It's got a sticker that says RHDOT (the "H" being the Honda logo type of H), but that's all. The insurance company paid the bodyshop for an OEM hood, but I can't imagine that an OEM hood would be out of spec like this.
Also, I'm thinking of disconnecting my check-engine light becasue it keeps coming on. Sometimes I clear it, and it stays off for hundreds of miles. Sometimes it clears itself after I drive with it on for hundreds of miles. I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong. I think it's just becasue I've got an aftermarmet header, racing cat, and exhaust. I guess my question is, does the check-engine light perfrom any other function besides telling you that your exhaust system is not perfroming to factory standards? If that's all it does, I might just as well disconnect it. As it stand now, I don't take it seriously anyway, and I find find it distracting, especially at night.
