Driving around OC today and spot this champ or pearl white dc5. Had a carbon fiber hood and had a integra type r sticker on its sides. I think Honda only had it japan or am I wrong?
as far as i know it was only in japan. unless he had it shipped. easily spotted by the whole right-hand drive thing.
Well...since you only saw the exterior....did you see the rear ( will not say acura anywhere if it really was a type r ) ? Did you see the front grill ( red H emblem? ) and the color of the housing on the headlights ( black )? Those would be some tell tale signs man
( then again....he could have bought those parts and "converted it" and then painted his car
)

Out of curiosity what is aesthetic about the DC5R compaired to our US RSX's or the guy driving the riced out Ford Probe down the street? I think you may have used that word in the wrong context. For the most part, the designers at Honda probably feel that all the cars they release for sales are aesthetically correct. Especially with any car wearing an R badge, even more details are poored into the car.
You clearly say "It's the right hand drive and what's under the hood that counts" So if we are aesthetically correct about doing a conversion, then one would think that in doing so, any part required is just as important than the next with one not taking a presidence over the other in the over all appearence and/or feel of the car as a whole. Since the word 'aesthetic' is to describe a hightened appreciation of beauty or taste, I feel that you may have used this word improperly.
Aesthetics would be like you know some guy down the street, and the poor misguided person that he is thinks his car with a spoiler from a 94' Supra and the front end off of a cummings diesel bolted on to his Honda Civic...he thinks his car is aesthetically correct. You and I know it looks like ******* dog **** with four tires stuck to it. This results in his car not being aesthetically correct because in no way, shape or form does his car envoke a presence or 'feel' of aesthetic correctness. You and I would rather go take a **** on the driver seat and call it a day.
At any rate: There is no DC5R here. There will not be because Honda of America is being retarded. This is no new news and many a thread has been started in HT and there are many sights dedicated to the pist off ramblings of the hard core Honda guys who fight tooth and nail to get them here. Your next best option is to simply import the car, play the game with the douche bags at customs and before you know it you have a 'real' DC5R and not a conversion

Thats not entirely true, There is a JDM Integra Type R in Cali. He made the issue of SCC a while back. It was the one with the WRX on the cover with how to convert to rear wheel drive.

it's simply cosmetic.....a matter of looks, and like art and beauty, a matter of opinion..that's if you are an aesthetic person (one sensitive to art and beauty)
now if you don't care much for the artistry or outward beauty of a vehicle, you won't care much for a car looking like a DC5 ITR if it really isn't one.
wow, I just wasted a couple minutes of my life, but I can't help it when threads want to wax philosophical
