Default Brown soot .

i keep geting some brown soot .. on the end and outsides of the weld .. tig ..
im very **** on cleaning the metal .. so i know the base is clean .. i feel that the brown **** may be caused by the acetone im wiping donw after ? any tips ?

usually i find that happening when my tungsten is contaminated.

I see that when the argon gets blown away from the weld; make sure you don't have any drafts. Also, depending on what you're welding and the angle of the torch, you can cause the argon to blow off to the side and suck air into the swirling mess, hench, contamination.

wtf its still goin on .. clean metal .. no draft .. gas lense .. wft .. any thing i may be doing wrong ?

How about a leak in the argon hose... or, very rarely, you may have a contaminated tank of gas.
