Hey everyone,
I did a search, but could not find what I was looking for. I know that the ITR has different suspension geometery than other Hondas, but HOW does it differ?
For a while Tein suspensions were only availabe in ITR specs, and to install them on an EG (my car), one would need to put an ITR rear suspension on it. What parts are different? Are they better? Is it just the LCAs or is there more to it? Is the EK9 the same way? A guy at work has DC2 LCAs on his EG, but he didn't have much to say about it.
I am going to replace my suspension soon and I want to know if I should look into Type-R components. Is it worth the price? Besides I want to stay 4X100 (3 sets of wheels in that pattern) so again, is it worth the conversion.
Thanks

LCAs
-EG/DC/ITR are all interchangeable, but the ITR has a specific type of shock mount
-EK is a longer and skinnier LCA, will not fit on anything else
-EK/EG/DC LCAs are cast
-ITR LCAs are stamped (thought to be stronger, but that is a negligible point)
Shocks
-EG/DC shocks are the same, fork mount
-ITR shocks are ball mount
-EK shocks can be used on an EG/DC LCA, but the mount will not fit over the bushing, you'd need to grind it
To answer your question directly, you'd only need ITR LCAs to mount ITR shocks, but the geometry is no different. Really, if you can get the shocks that fit your car you might as well.
