So what's your question? Is it "why does your intake cam have deep scratches in it?" This is the result of over-revving the motor .

How bad are the scratches? Are your rocker arms also damaged? What cams are you running?

they are deep grooves, i can feel them with my nail. my rockers have small scratches on them also. i am running rs machine stage 3 cams and have rs valve springs and retainers. i got a couple of opinions, one said my head is warped and that is why my cam is scarred.

if its only on the intake side check the bearings, or it might be from over reving too!

The scratches are probably caused by an improperly heat treated camshafts matched with too strong valve spring pressures. Tme to change the cams before you hurt more parts.
