I have a JDM h22 in a 4th gen, and the external coil. If I go to honda or a parts store, what year and what engine do I want to ask for to get the right cap and rotor. Most people indicate I should have an internal one since its JDM, but I think the original owner kept the ext. coil setup from the USDM h22 since its an SI-V to start with.

 

shouldnt you just ask for 5th gen parts their all external

i believe it's a 90 accord cap for the jdm distrubitors.

 

but I don't think I have the JDM one because they are internal coil, whereas mine is external, so I'm thinking that was USDM and I should get a 95 SI-V one.?? lol I'm lost

 

I am almost positive that the H22a1 motors 93-96 si vtec where external coil and the h22a4 97-01 were internal so I would say call them and tell them you have a 93-96 si vtec prelude and tell um you need a coil and cap. I do belive the the JDM h22 have external and the cap should be the same.

But if im wrong plz forgive me.

 

if u have an H22 with an external dist, u get the cap and rotor from a 95 prelude SI or SI-VTEC

 

h23 will work

 

I have a USDM H22a4 motor and it is external coil. So you could order a cap for that year (2000)
