welding piping with a t3 flange???

Default welding piping with a t3 flange???

if the piping is round like this



do you have to bend it to the shape of the t3 flange to weld??

ive never done it before but was also wondering the same thing


after staring at if you a while my guess would be cutting it a bit lower and ti looks like it will get a bit more square

hows that funny .. i did that for my t25 flange collector .. and dam did it come out nice .. i fully welded the collector first .. but the opaning was a circle and didnt transistion smooth into the flange so i hit it on two sides only .. to squash it down .. then angle grind it and wala .. soo dam smooth ... nice transition with out any blockage from the flange or collector

like i said, i may not do it to a burns stainless collector, but i would do it to something i made.

seriously, heat will let you shape that into almost anything. i would put it in a vice and heat is up, and slowly tighten up the vice, equal pressure on both sides, and a vice is iron so it should take the heat nicely

thanks, good idea. I'm not trying to do it to a collector but rather just one stainless steel tube.

You can make a die and use a press to do it. I made this tool in a couple hours out of junk. It's swaged about 200 ss-304/321 collector mouths now.
