I know, but I'm interested in Integra's specifically.

Mine is under my passenger seat, You can put it behind the rear seats too. There is a thread with installs in the a/v forum if I remember correctly.

When I owned an amp, which was years ago. It was installed directly behind and on the back seat.

Under the passenger seat. Though, the drivers seat might have been better, since it doesn't slide forward when you let passengers in the back.

installing a amp in this position tends to make them over heat, with the amp when u bought it it should have a book that tells u the dos and dont of installing the amp

simple, the amp isnt poerful enough to support ur subs. thus listening for too long, it over heats so it goes protective so nothing will be damage. once it have enough time for it to cool down, it will be normal again.

I did some installs where I would put the amp on top of the spare or next to the spare. So the amp would be out of the way.

Under the seats all the way, much harder to steal
It does depend on the amps though, I have two alpine amps which get hot enough to melt things but they have never once gone into protection in 4 years.

sure i "sound" dumb but in that position it doesnt get suffiecent cooling, with both amps i bought they came with a slip that showed positions not and to install the amps in such as not on the back of seats. Im not trying to flame people but give them the heads up. If u notice people that have instlled them in this position have had them over heat, i have mine next to my box in the hatch and they have never overheated

It sounds like you have bridged your subs and are trying to run a 2-ohm stable amp at 1-ohm or maybe you have a 4-ohm stable amp and are running a 2-ohm load. That causes the amp to overheat and go into protection mode. You can try taking it out of bridged mode and just run in stereo.

When you don't have enough power, that usually causes distortion and blowing speakers, not overheating.

Two 4-ohm subs in parallel = 2-ohm load. Calculator http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.g...ml#c1

Here's what I did with mine...nothing fancy, doesn't look all that cool, but only I have to look at it, it's not for show, works excellently and never overheats.

I have mine mounted to the rear seat and it has never overheated. I don't see how inside a hatch gets you better venilation than on the rear seats. Neither one I would imagine gets good venilation. In fact, I have my sub box sitting right in front of the amp, blocking it from view, so I doubt mine gets any venilation, but still doesn't overheat.

I had an amp which was mounted to the back back seat, never had any problems. Once I upgraded, It's now on the floor of the trunk (screwed down, of course) just behind the seats, under where the rear strut tower bar would go, if i had one.

Never had any over heating problems with my setup...we'll see what happens when I flush mount the amps in the back seats.
