ok i looked but couldnt find it anywheres on ht. i am trying to find out what all the numbers on the b series head stand for. i know the first two are the year engine it is from, but what are the rest. thanks any help would be appreciated

 

I started a thread about this a while back... It didn't get any replies.

Maybe the other numbers represent the date of manufacture.

 

On the front of the head, those little clock things. The one all the way on the left is the year the head was made. Thats the only one I know. Its going to be the model year of the car or the year before that.

 

You can identify what motor the head came from by looking at the numbers above the #2 exhaust port. For example, my head is a PR3-4 ('99 spec Si)

 

ok you guys made me run outside right now and look at what mine says cause i found out a while back that my 'jdm b16' has a remanned head on it.. makes me curious... heres the markings pr3-3

 

no one ever found this out? whats a itr/ctr head stamped with?

 

my b16b head says pr3-3
PR3-1: B16a, B17a, B16b, ITR
PR3-2: B16a, B17a, B16b, ITR
PR3-3: B16a, B17a, B16b, ITR
PR3-4: B16a, B17a, B16b, ITR

what different 'series' are there, aswell as 'groups'... what would that signify? different assembly plants?

also the third circle on my JDM b16a (day) says 3/1 if read rightside up... but its upside down... so is that 31st or should it be read in the order the numbers come from left to right regardless if their upside down... so the 13th?

also the last circle on mine is blank..
