OT: It's Miller Time!!
Just found out we're getting a track out here in Utah (yeah, yeah, I know...) The Miller Motorsports Park (MMP). Finally some place to go other than Vegas.
"The approximately 4.5 mile road race course, the longest course in the U.S., is being designed by Alan Wilson, one of the world's leading track designers. It will consist of a 2.24 mile East track, and a 2.20 mile West track. Each of these subtracks will contain different racing, viewing, and competition characteristics.
A 3.02 mile perimeter course is also being developed that will bypass the more technical inner sections and will allow for stockcar and road race events. In addition to providing a high-quality track for amateurs to improve their driving skills, Miller Motorsports Park will host premier regional and national racing events.
Some of the highlights of the road track are:
1. A 3,500 foot main straight which should allow for speeds of 200 mph by some categories of race vehicles.
2. A fast sweeper section after the main straight which will be unique in America and will rate amongst the fastest and most challenging corners in the country.
3. Heavily banked, 50 foot wide final turn onto the straight which completes a sequence of sweeping “ess” bends and which is the signature spectator corner of the facility.
4. Wide open safety zones to protect both drivers and their vehicles. "

I agree. That track looks pretty nice though.
I still think the next Expo should be at Mid-Ohio

Hrm.
Seems a lot of the newer tracks are designed by him and they all have a similar 'feel'
The more 'alan wilson' tracks I drive the more fun I have at Summit and VIR
