SEARCHED: Got this weird noise, help me out.
Got a replacement engine installed a couple days ago, new belts. Its not a schreek, its just a constant "wine" i guess you could call it. Like it stays with the rpm's. Definatly coming from the acceessory side of the engine. Ive driven about 60 miles since the install. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Sounds sorta like an electric drill. Alternator maybe?

Check the tension and alignment with the belts. Start the car and pop the hood then give the car throttle from the engine bay. See if you can pinpoint the noise then post it up.
theres about 3/4 to an inch of deflection in all belts, and as far as I can see, belts are aligned.
Started it up, listened to the wine, and its coming from either the powersteering, or air conditioning, maaaybe the tensioner pully. Never had this sound ever before, and it was evident when i picked up the car a couple days ago that this was a new sound.
what could it be, its annoying the crap out of me, cause I paid my own hard earned cash for this, and I dont want to stinking whine when i drive.
EDIT: Do new belts have a break-in period?

check the power steering fluid level.
check the power steering fluid level.
power steering fluid is full... A little side note...
so i was replacing the timing belt, did the water pump while I was at it, and over tightened the screws...ended up breaking 2 screws so decieded it was time to just replace the ****. While I was DIY, I undid the powersteering lines, emptied nearly all the fluid... The Place didnt check the PS which is wack, but anywho, could I or the test driver have messed anything up if there was no power steering fluid in the system. Probably driven a total of 30 miles without fluid... I know hondas take their propriatary PS stuff.

Thats good information. Driving the vehicle without power steering fluid is like driving your vehicle without oil in the engine. There is a good chance the power steering pump needs to be replaced.
One way you can confirm that it is your power steering pump. Remove the power steering belt and see if the sound exists. If not, you just confirmed its the power steering pump. If not, the problem is elsewhere.
Trial and Error. GL

well, its not the powersteering as I was hoping it was. Took the belt off still had the same whine. For some strange reason I seem to think it sounds like a tensioner pully. Would these make this misterious whine? Either the A/C tensioner pully or the timing belt tensioner pully? Overtightened pully perhaps?
Didn't tighten the belts but one question I have is are some belts just "whiny". I told the sucking shop to use oem, but I got goodyear bs instead.
trouble shooting is so much fun.
