sorry about the unclarity. I am talking about the nut/cups that appear to be part of the subframe where the LCA mounts to it. And this is on an EG.

Your talking about the two nuts (one for each LCA) tack welded to the forward side of the rear subframe, that the LCA mounting bolts thread into right?

If so, then yes you can cut them off, but make sure that if you use regular nuts, that you can eaisly access them with a wrench from now on. If you cannot, then it will be a pain in the @$$ to get the LCAs on/off.

And make sure to use locking nuts...

That is what I was planning on doing. I have some grade 8 hardware including lock washers and was also going to throw in some locktite just for good measure. Now are you saying to leave the cups and just remove the nuts somehow or the nuts and the cups all together? Thanks for your help.

I didn't realize there were cups surrounding the nuts. I guess I never had to get behind the subframe to check it out before. If you can get in there to just chisle out the nuts, that would probably be better. If not, I'm sure you could use a large flat washer in place of the cup...

I can't say for sure though...

yeah, you can remove it if you really need to. theres 3 spot welds holding the cup in place. i bet you could just put a socket to the nut thats welded to the cup and the welds on the cup would break off the subframe.

i really dont understand why there are even cups attached to the subframe. it doesnt seem to serve anymore function.

Breaker bars tear those 3 tac welds off with no problem. If you can't muster the strength, use a badass imapct to break it off.
