I had a quick question about something so just follow me.
Ok the principle is a detachable face for a controller....Whether Boost/vtec/damper control...whatever.
What i'm thinkng is...
Take a normal Face plate looking device and run all appropriate wires to the unit. Have it be able to apply the face to said Plate...Now all the relay buttons on the chip behind the face run to specific wires on the unit. Are you getting the idea. So it's like any normal car stereo dethacble face, but for our Controller units. Here's why i think this would be an awesome idea.
-We have all seen the units that have the Dvd players pop out. Same principal. But the Face of our controllers would be mounted flush On the interior ceiling right above the Seatbelt detection light *thingy* Almost like a cop Unit has it's units on the interior ceiling.....Same for us except we could line up a vtec controlelr/Boost controller all on the interior celing flush with the Celing padding....And maybe a cover plate over said faces. I was just thinking about that today.....
Does that sound like something plausable, something that might serve as a purpose. B/c i know us EF guys are running out of room to put gauges and Units and senders and relays(for all your jdm freaks) the punchouts are all take up. and Tkaing the center vent out has been done before. But i have not seen a unit controller mounted to the interior ceiling.
Anyone got some feedback on this idea. I want to try it. But the things holding me back....The detachable face availability. All units (greddy, Defi, etc) are all one house unit. But i know fab skills could make it work. Anyone with some ideas on how to improve my idea.
