Default Insurance - The Killer

I hear people talk about how insurance is killer on the Type R.... I'm looking at getting a Type R really soon..... and was just getting a quote. So I went on Ebay and took the VIN from one of the type rs on ebay and gave it to my insurance company (Geico) to give me a quote on. I got quoted $357 / 6 months. Now to me that is DAMN cheap. So is there something I am missing.. why are some paying a crap load.

Post your age - sex - location and how much you pay.

I was paying $1250/6 months for full coverage on my old GSR at 20 yrs old. So that quote seems cheap to me

that's a great price I pay more than that and I have a perfect driving record and am 34 years old. I also insure 3 cars and get a multiple car discount. Insurance prices vary hugely by region.

On the other hand, it just might truly be an RS.

Im guessing that since he's military and he lives in a wierd place like alaska where theft is probably not so high, insurance would probably be really low.

There are several different 'perks' for living in the great north. This could quite possibly be one of them. I have friends that go up there every now and then, never heard any reports of high crimes....

$250 per month here, I'm 26 insured under my own name and clean driving record.

That sounds too good to be true but if it's legit go for it. I've heard that Geico offers alot lower rates because when you need to make a claim they try EVERYTHING(worse than the usual **** companies try to pull) to get out of it.

Is that just for liability? Great deal, if you can swing it.

<---- $100/Month Full coverage, 27 w/ 1 speeding ticket.
