I currently need a place that sells 5" mandrel u bends. I'm looking to make a down pipe and a full exhuast on my street car.

I need it for my hf manifold / saab turbo Sohc D16 NON-vtec project.

There you go. I buy bends from these guys unless I need a real tight radius.

Why stop at 5" They stock up to 8" mandrel-bent, only $231 per 90° for that size in stainless. (You get mad props if you can squeeze a 20" CLR into a Honda)

Why report? The dude wants to stuff a sewer pipe in his car to show that there is some limit to where you continue to see gains with bigger exhaust diameters. Let him, it's his money.

be sure to pick up 5" charge piping too... you dont wanna restrict airflow there.


lol anyone know the diameter of the pistons in a d16? is it smaller than 5"? my guess is it is

 

The pistons in a Chevrolet 350 are 4.002". About the same size in a 90 CID Harley Davidson.

 

lol.. 5" off a junkyard turbo.. just clamp the pipe around the housing.. hopefully it's not too small.

A local supra here runs 4inch and he pushs right at 800 to the ground....5 inch is NOT necessary

But like everyone has been saying on honda-tech about me hating on the 4" stuff is that

"if we dont advance, then we would all still be running drag turbo kits and FMUs"

So im just pushing the envleope.

Im going with 4" charge pipes for turbo ahd intake manifold side.

Dont want restriction there... because we all know bigger pipes mean more HP.
