is that the part that typically sqeaks? my gas shocks that hold up the hatch are shot too, i dono if that would make it squeak

put electrical tape around that latch.. it'll work perfectly.

U can also try to extend those little rubber stumpson the under side of the hatch, that may help out a bit too
