All Worries solved, a $4.17 part fixed my disaster!! No more oil consumption..
Well the source of my oil consumption, dirty oil, and light smoking during a down shift has been found. The damn PCV Valve on the valve cover was stopped up. Man I have had the biggest damn headache relieved by buying a $4.17 part from the Napa store.
I had done a leakdown and compression test incorrectly and had gotten some horrific readings. I am just glad I didn't tear the motor apart for a rebuild. The swap that I got was a 1999 B18B changeover from Import Auto Salvage in Marion, NC. They swore up and down the motor wasn't hurt and they were right! Damn good guys, they sent me rings and other gaskets for the re-ring. Come to find out I don't even need the stuff.
Every swap I have done including this swap, I ALWAYS install: timing belt, tensioner, spring, cap rotor, button, plugs, wires, water pump, Fidanza flywheel, ACT clutch, fluids, etc. But I have never even been told that it is good practice to change the damn PCV Valve. So if any of you have any of these oil symptoms please check that valve. On the B18B it is on the valve cover where the vacuum goes into the intake manifold. If you take it out shake it a little and you should hear the insides shaking, if not it is stopped up.
Moral of the story, I am relieved my car is straight and no rebuild necessary!

Hmmm, my car eats oil and has low compression on cylinder 2, could this be the answer to my problems as well? Where exactly is this valve and how do I change it?
wow, cool, i never knew that a stuck PCV valve could do that, my car seems to take a fair bit of oil, i think i will check the valve now

if you have an obd2 integra, the pcv valve is right on the valve cover, upper middle of it. Just unplug that, take off the hose thats on it, and replace it.
kind of a dumb question, but is the PCV valve connected right onto the valve cover or on the far side of the rubber hose, because i am having slight difficulty of getting the far side of teh rubber hose off the other metal hose
i also did the check in the haynes book, where it says unplug the hose anf start it and while its idling, check to see if there is any vacuum from the hose and there didn't really seem to be any, so looks like i will have to replace mine, hopefully this will be the answer to my oil consumption

Yeah my buddy just replaced his on his 00' SI and it has made a huge difference as well!
haha it was my answer too!
Theres like at least 2 postings per week about those damn pcv valve. Im sure if you search for that u'll bring the search server down ;p
BTW, easy to find ut if ur pcv valve is worned out, just shake it, if you cant hear bearings shaking, or only hear one or two, its du to be replaced (they say every 20 000 kms - 13 000 miles).

Don't forget, on GSR & also early (pre-'96?) B18B engines, the PCV valve is on the breather box. That's underneath the intake manifold, mounted to the back of the block. So if you've only got ONE hose on the valve cover, you'll have a harder time reaching the PCV valve.
black smokes everytime i down shift, low compression on #1(185) and #4(140) and #2-3 (220).....maybe i should change my pcv valve...wouldnt hurt but i think my rings are toast.....plus
to import auto salvage....there prices are bit higher then most places but customer service gets
