no matter how much tweaking you do, its not going to fit perfect, and you wont be happy if there are gaps or whatever. get a 94-97 type r lip from http://www.jdmshit.com

i've heard theres modifications you need to do to make it fit right though, and even then, its hard to line it up flush

i just did mine. My bumper is pretty messed up so i found a cracked lip for 20 bucks and tried to put it on. I think i cut away at the sides too much though....didn't fit perfect but im happy i guess. I fixed the crack with fiberglass. Ill try taking pics....lol but ill need to buy a flame suit first. cutting at the bumper was sooooo scary...i just didn't want to do it at first. If i get it all painted i think it will turn out okay. I had a very hard time getting the scews on in the bottom and to get it to sit right.

why not just buy a lip made for that year bumper, or buy a 98-01 bumper and put the lip on it.

i just did it becuase my bumper was broke and the cracked lip was cheap. I was actually going to do the 98 conversion but i got scammed for the whole thing. If i were you i would really just get the lip thats made for your bumper...putting this one on isn't that easy....and yes it does not fit perfect...its hard to get it to fit perfect.
