i picked up a canon zr100 camcorder for a big dyno meet in phoenix happening on saturday, and i finally got around to testing it out.

first off, let me give the lowdown on the pricing/specs.

stock battery last around 1-2 with lcd use, about 2-3hrs without lcd use.

mini dv tapes ran me $19 for 3 tapes. and i had to buy a firewire cable, which i got raped on, $32!!!?!?!


other then the firewire cable being stupid expensive, the camera is AWESOME.

its probly the best mini dv camera out right now in its price range ($300-$350).

i sent over 2 minutes of footage from the camera to the pc, and it was about 430mb in raw format. i then squeezed it down to about 5.1 megs, and the quality of the video is very nice for being only 5 megs. heres the video. its just me walking around my car. check it out...

at 10 megs, the quality is a bit nicer, but going from 430 megs to 5.1 megs, and looking that nice..... the canon zr100 kicksass.
