that it's hard to keep A/C and power steering when doing an H22 swap. I was wondering if most people do without it or if there would be enough space in my 96 ex coupe. Also, they didn't complete the swap, so i was wondering how often H22 swaps fail.

I heard of people getting ac in there h22ed coupe, but i dono about power steering.

 

i put the h in my coupe power steering was very easy, with pressure treated lines. I took the AC out of my car, did not want it. But HCP engineering makes a mount kit for it, fairly cheap i think around 100 bucks. If ya want some pics of my engine bay to see the power steering, jus PM

You can keep both. You will need to have someone make a special line or connection for you for the high pressure side of the power steering. You will need the prelude S shaped metal line mated to the Civic Line. It isn't as easy as it looks because ther is a hidden inner metal line that runs through the length of the high pressure side.

As far as a/c is concerned. You will, for the most part, have to keep the stock header and with that means no turbo, and no crazy all motor build (unless you are willing to have that header as your choke point or can find one that is a/c compliant). Also, you will need to get the a/c bracket from HCP. Hasport, or any other company as far as I know, doesn't offer it.

I begrudging decided to lose both. I probably picked up 2-4whp by eliminating those components, I easily lost 15-20 pounds, and picked up a lot of mid range power with my AN-R. If I had a choice I would've kept them both, but such is life.

EDIT: I just saw your thing about swaps failing. Um, you would have to either be a lazy bastard or really not know what you are doing to an H22 swap to 'fail.'

EDIT #2: I just read that Honda Tuning article. How do they over complicate the isntallation of the shifter. It is as easy as making that hole in the floor a little bigger, drilling for holes for bolting down the shifter and then cuting a 2x3 whole in front of the shifter for the cables. They turned what took me 30 minutes into a 4 hour job. Awesome .
