Default s40 transmission -- vtec or non-vtec ?

does the s40 transmission belong to the d16y8 or the y7?

i've been seeing conflicting information concerning this.

S40 is the family name, you cant tell any difference between the two trannys just by knowing that.

y7 i believe but also came on the jdm d15vtec

its marked as e5f.... but i, too have a feeling it's a DX tranny


time to start making phone calls to the ******* who sold me the tranny
