damn! lucky! my first car cost 1800, it was an 88 lude 4ws.

as for the GSR, you'll find them all day at that price. i'd recommend looking for a 94 or 95 if you plan to modify it. 94 and 95 are the circle headlight (3rd gen, or how you see them refered to around these parts, dc2) thats obd1. obd1 is the computer system that is most tuner friendly. obd1 did run from 92-95, so if you were interested in older integras, there is the 2nd gen gsr aka db2. they're great cars too.

if you're interested in internal specs of the motor:
b18c, b18c1, b18c3, b18c6 and all other engine codes for the gsr:
p72 cast code block
us spec:
10.0:1 c/r pistons 81mm (3.189") bore
5.429" rods (if you want big bore and small bore sizes just ask)
87.2mm (3.433") stroke crank (if you want rod or main journal sizes just ask)
p72 cast head
33mm intake valves
28mm exhaust valves
1.55:1 r/r
i dont remember chamber size, something like 42cc
i dont know cam specs

something unique to the b18c gsr's is the dual runner secondary(butterfly) manifold, i hate it.

i can't think of anything else right now.

Make a standad for yoursel and dont compromise! As long as it takes, make sure you find a real good gsr, dont jump on a 100,00 mile one cuz its cheap, like I almost didI jumped on a 100, 000 mile gsr and then someone else bought it,. yeah, a GSR is a pretty well rounded car...I'd get one, but I have an RS. And I don't regret having that either. I'm sure you'd be happy with your choice. Seeing as how you've saved your money for a long time, don't settle for less. You can find PLENTY of great GSRs for $7500-$8000. Best of luck.

just make sure wen ur ready to purchase one, dont jump for the first one, look around and narrow your search. gsr IMHO is the greatest car to tune for its pricerange. stock it gets the job done. which is good. also when you start driving, keep it stock for a while, leanr about your car. then start by upgrading brakes or suspension/wheels/tires then work your way there. welcome to ht search if you have a question, if u cant find it after 30 min, post your question. and if you have extra money after your car buy a flame suit

Everyone else has said it, dont get impatient and jump at the first one, but more importantly, dont settle for an LS if u can't find a gsr.

Coz then you'll end up like me and putting thousands and thousands later into an Ls Vtec, i mean, in the end my car is faster then a GSR, but it took a long time to get there, b/c i wasnt paitent enough to wait for the good deal on a GSR.

goodjob kid!

hey no need to thumbdown the rs
you can go FI

anyways, it's nice to know you're gonna buy an integra, just be safe and don't try to showoff too much . Accidents happen from doing stupid things especially at your age, I'm not saying that you will, just saying to be careful. Hope to see you here more often and definitely post some pics when you get it

goodluck

awesome awesome car! you fell in love with the right one. haha. even till this day i would buy a gsr over any other honda. well type-r was my first love, *sigh* but my insurance company was bein a sore loser about it. so a GSR fullfilled my emptiness.

it kills a little bit of gas though. might just be the way i drive. but OVERALL its good.
