What makes you think it won't fit? Have you tried? or are you just guessing? Because I know of three cars that say it will fit. It does take a bit of modificatin of the stock CAT but it does work.
And yeah I'd say go with a Carsound CAT as well, if you are looking to go high flow.

I'm running the OEM cat. I used to have a 2.5" carsound cat, but with the strict cali emissions, I had get rid of it. A muffler shop cut off the latter half of the carsound cat (so the 2.5" donut gasket was still connected to the carsound cat), and welded on the OEM unit. I'll get pics if you want.
I am running a 17.5" Magnacore Racing Cat with my JDM 4-1 on my LS. Stck LS cat is too long. hooked up to APEXI WS exhaust..

I had a catsound stock LS cat, but the JDM header is longer then 4-2-1 stock USDM header. So you need a shorter cat to keep same total length of exhaust. Or it will rub against fuel tank (Not good) I maybe incorrect in length, but will got back and measure.
I got a spun bodied high flow cat from SMSP. He did a flowbench test and it ended up flowing better than the carsound and some other brand he tested.
