Default Roll bar safety for rear seat passengers.....

I know that a roll bar with any cross braces is EXTREMELY dangerous for any rear seat passenger.

But what about the standard autopower hoop setup with no cross braces? Would it still be dangerous for rear seat passengers?

Thanks

Why would you be driving dangerously enough to need a rollcage, with passengers?

a rollbar is not a removable item. if you street your track car... think about it.

imo a hoop alone would be completely worthless in the event of a rollover and would just be something to hit your head on. i'd say either deal with not having passengers in the rear seat or don't get a rollbar.

Lol, actually, would like to have it for auto-x events, HPDE events and other track events, but this is my daily driver, so I want to make sure its safe for rear seat passengers on a daily basis....

well you didn't say that... i was struggling to figure out what you meant by a hoop and figured what most would... a hoop!

a 4 point is not worthless, in fact i have one myself. far too unsafe for passengers in the rear, but to each his own.

Actually I think autopower can make a 4pt with a removeable crossbrace. If you pad the hoop and the backstays I don't think it would be too bad for passengers with the cross bar removed.

they'd have metal bars right next to them! padded or not, they hurt.

In any sort of accident, it will probably kill your passengers or give them severe head trauma.
Padding won't help. Proper cage padding and helmets with a harness would be a must for them, and really, the rollbar isn't designed to protect them. Anyone riding in your rear seats is really taking a big risk for no reason.

Don't put it in if you need to have people ride in the back.
