Default 2000 Integra factory alarm?

I just bought my integra and it has an alarm, but the remote is missing. I don't even know whether this is aftermarket or factory option-installed. From the wiring it looks really neat, like either it's factory alarm or an aftermarket with real professional installer.

Does integra has factory alarm? how can I tell and how can I get the replacement remote?

Yeah integras do come with factory alarms. The 00-01 models also have the computer chip in the key for more security purposes. I have a 2000 also but mine came with an aftermarket alarm. I would look in the engine compartment for any modules that look like they could be aftermarket (most likely a black looking box). If it's factory it will most likely be hooked up to the horn...

I guess I will trace the siren's wire to the dashboard. From what you said I guess since mine has a siren in the engine hood it would be aftermarket?

This is unfortunately incorrect. Integras do not come with factory alarms or keyless entry, although they do have immobilizers.

If there is an alarm it was put in at the dealership where it was purchased or by an aftermarket installer. Different dealers use different alarm systems, depending on the vendor they deal with, so your best bet is to go to the dealer where it was bought or give them a call, and get the records.

The other way to figure it out is to pop the hood, against the firewall you should see a siren and you can trace the wires to the alarm brain. Once you find the brain, write down any identifying marks on the brain or horn. If you can find a line that says FCCID:xxxxxx then you are in good shape. You can take that FCCID and get a replacement based on that info. Try http://www.remotesunlimited.com.

If you can't find the brain or siren, and the alarm only honks the horn then you have a cheap dealer installed alarm that isn't worth much, so you should pull it out and get a new one anyway.

I always thought they did cause my neighbors 94 integra got borken into and I was told they disabled the alarm that was connected to the horn so either i misunderstood it or she had some other type of alarm system. Sorry elpiar for the incorrect info!

dude, integras don't come with factory install Keyless alarms. If your car has one is was done probably as a dealer installed option.

Nevertheless you can forget trying to look for the brain under the dash cause it is not there...

If there is an alarm installed it will be under the driver's seat mounted on the bottom.

Also there will be a nice little LED on the Top plastic cover behind the steering wheel and there should be a black little button on the lower dash cover, that is if the dealer installed the alarm to OEM specs.

If your car has a factory alarm installed you can buy a remote from the dealer($$$) or on ebay and have it programmed to the alarm's brain, you can program up to 3 remotes.
