replacing CV joints
From what I found with the search, it looks to be easier and about the same price to just do the whole halfshaft instead of just the joint. Autozone has remanufactured halfshafts for 60 bucks a pop, seems pretty reasonable I guess. Don't need anything too hardcore for my whole 80 hp. 91 STD hatch, about 190k on the clock. Is there anything else I should check out while I'm under there? And also, what is the color code for the STD axles? I guess they're 23 spline, just wondering tje color stripe on them for when I order them. Its snowing out and I don't feel like crawling under the car
Check your brakes, hoses, anything else you normally don't have access to.
Be sure you have the socket to remove the axle nut (32mm??) and a nice big breaker bar.....or a heavy duty impact wrench.
Don't know about a color stripe. I'd just have them pull both kinds of axles (Std & CRXSi, for example) and make sure you're getting the ones with the smaller hub end
