Where is this little circle for? what does it do? Im just curious.

it's there on all of the newer cars...

it's basically there for shipping your car, they hook it up underneath that cover in the front and the rear so your car doesn't move while it's been shipped. Good stuff.

Its not just for shipping, its for towing the car also. The car comes with a tow hook you twist into the hole. Theres also one in the back. Good for when your stuck in ditches.

 

ahahah... easier to not get stuck in ditches.
definately not for shipping.... only for towing... usually the tow hooks break too.... the stock hooks suck......

 

Its the tow hook access panel...that is its main purpose.

 

it's used for towing.. and there's on on the back bumper too...

 

and for being shipped as well... my mom goes to college (Hahaha.. j/p)

they use the tow hooks to keep the cars from shifting as well.. but yes, i should have thrown in that it is also there for towing. I just don't want to jinx myself..

 

^^^ I guess it just depends on how its being shipped, our's came in on the truck and had white sticker crap all over it covering everything including that little tow hook panel, nothing was hooked to our car there or the other 3 S2000's on that truck...but i can see what your saying, its main purpose is still for towing though. (little bag that the hook came in actually says "Tow hook" on it...lol)

 

mine came with all that white sticker crap all over it too.... and well mine was sitting in a warehouse/storage area for a year before i picked it up.. so when they took those things off i had little dust lines everywhere that i had to clean....

 

We had them detail the hell out of ours before we took delivery of it because it also had lines on it where the protective stuff was on it...they even sat it right up front of the showroom when we came, felt kinda special (lol...yea)

hahah yeah.. i didn't really care i just wanted the car and i wanted to leave asap hahahaha... it didn't take much to get them off tho....

its for towing....not just shipping. I'm sure they wouldn't put a hole in the bumper, and include a tow hook in the trunk if it was just for shipping.

The owners manual specifically says not to use conventional tow trucks, flat beds only. Which is what the tow hook is for.

And its good for when it snows alot and you get stuck at work :D

my friend has a huge dent in his jetta from some van

 

its for a weapon...in the trunk.....pop off the circle cap.....screw on the weapon....and ram into a car as hard as you can.....kinda of like wearing a ring when socking someone....

Details are sketchy...all i remember is a bum, a taco, 2 missles and a bus of old women...after that its a red meaty blur, and then i woke up on the couch, i was at home watching HGTV.

Yeah, I read this thread the other day thinking i'll probably never use that tow hook. A couple hours later it's going on the flat bed .. WTF
