i have a chance to get my car "smoged" if you know what i mean hehehe. my registration is up in june. im pretty shure i have to smog my car because its been 2 years since i bought it. i am the second owner and its a 2000 civic dx. my question is can i get it smoged now and registration will be fine? or wait till i get a noitce to do it? if anyone has any thoughts let me know!

 

You have to wait until the DMV sends you a smog notice in the mail.

Something like two months. They give you a lot of notice in case you have to get things fixed.

 

and in certain cases you can go to the DMV and get an extension if you need it.

 

Different areas have different regulations. Lake county is smog exempt. You only have to smog on a change of title.

yeah u can do your smog just make sure it's in June, cause the smog is good for 90 days. Pretty much mean if u do your smog now it's gogin to expire on July.

 

If you have a 2000 car you will not need to SMOG it till 2006 with the new smog law.
