Default Steering Wheel "Wobbles" @ Low Speed, What Causes?

This is for my girls 99 Tiburon

She was backing in a parking lot, no more than 15mph and rolled the car onto a snowbank type deal, the back right side of the car was off the ground and she couldnt move anywhere, I came over and had to dig her rear tire out so the car wasnt supported with snow anymore and just ******* pushed her hard and the car moved.

She drove the car home byherself 50 miles, no complaints, gets on her way to work in the morning and the wheel "wobbles" under 40mph, its like maybe 1/2" wobbling back in forth when you let go of the wheel but the car drives straight as sin

Some *** at work told her she bent her rim which obviously didnt happen hitting soft snow and rolling up it, but what could it be, I dont want her to get overcharged at the service place Friday.

Thanks guys

You can SEE whether it's bent, all you have to do is jack up that corner & spin the wheel. If it is, then maybe she was going faster than what she said.

Maybe there's snow packed up inside the rim causing it to be out-of-balance? See what happens after it melts.

My first thought was a bent wheel but I think Mr. Blake has the likely answer...snow pack in the rim. This essentially throws your tire balance out of whack and definately will cause the steering wheel shake. If the motion is mostly in the sttering wheel only and you don't feel it through the seat of the pants, check out the fronts. If you feel vibration through the seats, check the rears.

Let it melt on its own or go to a car wash and use the spray wand to blast through the wheels and melt any snow build-up. I used to have to do it all the time when i delivered pizza in college and was always screwing around in snow drifts in neighborhoods.
