i have a 99 ls auto 2 dr. I'm doing a swap for a 2000 GSR tranny and the shop told me that I'll need a new ecu.

Can I chip my current auto ECU?
buy a 2000 GSR ECU?
buy a 1999 5spd LS ECU?

Please note that my LS is not V-Tech Not yet at least

 

y would u need a new ecu for a tranny? its VTEC not V-tech which is a phone.

your doing a 5sp swap so you need a Manual Ecu, so get a 99 to 01 ls 5sp ecu or convert to obd1 & get 94 to 95 ecu
