oxygen sensors
i want to change my stock oxygen sensors due to my engine light stays on....the last diagnostics i had done on the '97 prelude SH, showed my problem was oxygen sensor, but i don't remember if it was front or rear. anyway, i found (2) Bosch universal oxygen sensors for half the price.....but my problem is, the wires...stock oxygen sensors have (4) wires...two white, one gray & one black....the universal sensors have (4) wires ... two black, one blue & one white....can you tell me which color wire on stock sensor goes with which color wire on universal sensor?
please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the sensor has 4 wires coming out out of one end and the plug/harness/connector is loose in the bag....because it is a universal sensor and can be used for different applications....there would not be any questions if the wires were the same colors
Yeah sensors are a bad thing to go cheap on. Bosch = Volkswagen = Lame ...also are you sure its the o2 so many people miss dio. an o2 cause its the flat rate easy thing to do...the scan tool says o2 sensor so that must be the problem. I would check to see what the o2 is doing is it switching High and Low ( above and below 450 mv ) High meaning (750-900) and low being (0-200) i.e. 125/700/200/800/100/780 and so on or is it not switching at all? o2s can also get contiminated with silicon and other things..thinking its the o2 you replace it and 5,000 miles later the CEL comes on and it says you need another o2. Just check with your mechanic to see why it needs a new o2. Ask him if its switching high and low.. etc... just my opinion on the whole o2 thing.

Who knows. Stock Denso last the longest and work the best.
German electrical components and japanese cars don't mix.

I don't have a 5th gen, but for the 5 speed and sh or non sh prices were the same when I looked for the other guy, it could be placement and amount of wire, again not knowing what they look like just a guess?
