how would a shop charge to install jdm sidemarkers?
dude, all you gotta do is trace the cut out hole from a jdm fender and cut it out on your USDM fender using a jig saw. In fact there are even cutout patterns on the internet for the side markers if you look hard enough.
and for the wiring, all you gotta do is tap the two wires from the bottom bumper corner lens and run the wire to the new side marker.

flag hours for that at my dealership (that kind of work) is 2.2h @ 78$ labor cost (body shop fees) so your talkin 171.60 for the install...i would say just find yourself a good body guy and tell him you'll give him 50 bux each side cause a shop or a dealership body shop will rip you off.

the jdm sidemarkers are an odd shape. i wouldn't feel comfortable doing it with no experience.

Qualified employee gets paid $20-25/hr. Professional equipment used to do the job. Cost to run electricity at the shop. Materials used to do a quality job.
Time it takes to prep and finish the job, at least 2 hours.
and you expect to pay only $50.00 Labor rates are $60-80 an hour. I know its just side markers, they dont seem to be that big of a job. But you have to realize the work that you pay for is being done by people who make a living like any of us. Everyone wants something for cheap... but we dont realize these people work hard for their money like us.

i feel ya. yeah it may be easy for those who did it. but then again think of all the ways this could go wrong. too much pressure = bent fender. wrong size hole = fucked up fender. I mean if you **** up it's hard to turn back and redo, sometimes you're opted to get another fender. it's just...if you can do it for 30-40 for a quality job then i say go for it. whatever makes you most comfortable. i'd honestly say for me, I would be worried so i'd probably give it to someone more experienced to do.
