Default DA's - should I go ls/vtec?

wsup ppl
I have a 92 DA and thinking about going LS-VTEC.
Only concern is the block has 150,000+ miles.
I'm the 3rd owner of the car.
Wanna go LS-VTEC because it cost less than a GSR swap.
I still want the torque but with a better bottom end.
I just don't know if the B18 block is good for it.
I've had the car for about a month and everything runs well.
Well maintained with all records
Oil changed every 3g's with full synthetic.
Tell me what you guys think.
Thanks.

Rebuild the bottom end and do it. I've had my ls/vtec for a little over a year and I dont regret it a bit. BTW my block had 165k miles on it when I mated it with my B16 head. I'm planning to rebuild the bottom end soon.

like everyone said rebuild the bottom end, and dont rev it to 8 the stock redline will still be the same even though it will rev further the bottom end isnt built for it and if taken there often ull problly end up throwing a rod

A few things:

-balance the bottom end
-install arp rod bolts
-install a gsr water pump

Also consider an LS/VTEC kit such as the Golden Eagle kit.

Yo! Thanks for the replies. Does anyone know if Red Zone Performance in San Jo do motor swaps or ls vtec conversions. I know what they sell motors and what not, just don't know if they do anything else. Thanks again.

in the long run...if you find a cheap GSR swap, it will cost less than LS/Vtec...that is, if you do LS/Vtec right (IMO)...

you can get good power out of a lsvtec. DAs also have a strong bottom end stock so after u build it up it will be reliable

rule of thumb is
if ur doing lsvtec
on a old motor THAT NEEDS TO be rebuilt
rebuild+slap head

80% of the failures of ls/vtec is people that have 120k stock block just slap on a head and start reving the **** outa it

i would do it if you can rebuild the bottom

btw redzone is 5mins away from me
they do good work for great prices
ask for jermey

also what tint % is that?
i have the same car+color
gotta get a tint soon

good lookin with red zone...
I hear a lot of good things about them...
I'm considering buying the parts and letting them do the labor...
I can do the ls/vtec with a couple of friends but I have some doubts...
Maybe I'll leave it up to the professionals...

Don't know about the tint...
Although the % is perfect for me and the weather here...
Peace
