Does anyone have a diagram of the HVAC control unit for an EG? Specifically, what in God's name the stupid temperature slider hooks up to to actually control the temperature. Was like that when I bought the car, and while I have no idea what exactly 30 celcius is, I think that at some point in time I would like it to be a different temperature. Thanks a bunch!

i just put that in my car. all that does is control the fluid flow through your heater core

 

Yes...this I know...But what I am looking for is where exactly to hook the switch up to so I CAN control the fluid in the heater core...and thus adjust my temperature...Could you maybe describe what it looks like?

 

oh if you are looking where to route the cable it goes around the radio down the little channel on the left side of the glove box and under the heater core. the other two plugs on the backside plug in like factory

 

the thing that it hooks to has a little metal clip that holds the cable and a little nipple that the eye hole on the cable slides over. if you need more i will get it when i get off work

Warm enough? Where the hell are you at? It was 74 out here in California yesterday!

 

i noticed you said it was the jdm hvac, if i can remeber right there is no cable it is a electronic control. i just pulled a jdm hvac unit and i didn't find a cable like that. are you putting a jdm climate control on a usdm system?

 

also i have pics of the unit removed from the car if that will help you find what your looking for.

 

Yeah, JDM HVAC in a USDM car. Not my doing. And it's freaking 35* out here. I won't need to turn it down for a while...Pics would be helpful. Is it possible to hook that up in a USDM car?

 

hook up the whole unit ie, radiator core a/c core, fan or just the control?

 

Everything works except the temperature control slider. That's all I need to know how to hook up...Man, I think I'm wording this very poorly.

 

oh, you need a interior temp sensor to use the slider i have one for sale if you need it.

 

alright, here is the pics of what i got. you cant just "hook up" the slider. it is part of an entire system. you need to check you wiring and the componets below to see why it isn't working. the jdm system can switch from a/c to heat on it's own. it is computer controlled. your slider is hooked up, you need to figure out what's wrong electricaly

this must be where it reads the interior temp:

as you can see it controlled electricaly not mechanicaly

this is the jdm temp sensor box and control relays:



then here is the control for the heater core:



all of this stuff is controlled by sensors and not a simple slider, like the us version. there is no mechanical links from the controls to the hvac, it's all electric. you need to have the right componets to get the air to work right

 

There are no mechanical controls on the JDM unit? Son of a bitch...I was under the impression that it wasn't connected to anything due to the fact that the slider slides with no resistance and feels like it isn't hooked up to anything. Thanks a lot for the pictures, I'm gonna try to get the dash torn down this week. &lt;sigh&gt;

 

i dont what it hooks to inside of the control unit. you'll probably have to take it out and see if you have some thing broke in the head unit. but the only thing that comes out of the head unit are wire connectors.

 

your slider is moving easy because he cable isn't hooked up to anything. you only need the sensors if you are using ac. otherwise the slider just controls the fluid running through your heater core.

 

would you just like a usdm unit?

that is where you are wrong the coolant thru the heater is controlled by a little motor on the bottom of the hvac unit. the signal comes from the controls on the dash

 

Wow. This is way more annoying than I figured. haha. All the vent controls work, so I think the slider control is just not hooked up to anything...Gah...It needs to be warmer to work.

Thanks for the offer of the USDM unit, but I just want to get this unit working...just to satisfy my own crazy mind.

 

If you change your mind, Ill pretty much just give you my unit, its just collecting dust in my house
